K-Net, a leading innovator in cutting-edge technology solutions, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its journey of technological excellence.
The recently installed DAB radio system, meticulously executed under K-Net’s operational excellence, showcases the company’s dedication to enhancing the broadcasting experience for its valued customers. With this state-of-the-art system, K-Net aims to bring crystal-clear, high-quality audio content to audiences far and wide, transforming the way we connect with radio. This achievement not only underscores K-Net’s commitment to delivering contemporary solutions but also highlights the power of collaboration in the ever-evolving tech industry.
African Union Communications LTD (AUCOM), specialists in the integration and supply of Digital Multimedia platforms in Africa, has successfully provided the DAB Head-End platform to K-NET.
Paneda has provided a complete virtual server-based platform and consists of a complete multiplexer platform in full redundancy, handling 20 audio services and meta data. The platform is expandable without further hardware investments.
2wcom Systems GmbH has provided a complete audio over IP contribution system, from studio encoders to the centralized multiplexer platform as well as satellite distribution to the DAB transmitters around the country.
Paneda and 2wcom are technical partners with long experience of providing complete end-to-end solutions for DAB.
Lars-Peder Lundgren, CEO at Paneda says:“- We are very happy to support a new country on the DAB market and look forward to a long-term relationship with AUCOM and K-NET. Furthermore, we notice that more customers choose software-based virtual system solutions over hardware-based solutions, which makes it very easy to expand, support and maintain.”
Richard Hlomador, Found and Chief Network Architect at K-NET says,“- We believe that the strength of our achievements lies not only in our technological prowess but also in our ability to forge strong partnerships. This accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and expertise of our team and the valuable collaboration with Paneda, 2wcom and AUCOM.”
Villiers Joubert, CEO at AUCOM says:“- We are delighted to have been selected by KNET to provide the Head-end system for this first DAB network roll-out in West Africa. We are confident that this pilot project will set the example in the region and will lead to many more similar deployments on the African continent”.
Leif Cipriani, CTO at 2wcom says,“We are proud to be part of the launch of K-Net’s introduction of DAB+ in Ghana. Our Team is utilizing a combination of 2wcom’s audio over IP encoders, our virtualized transcoder – MoIN, along with satellite distribution to feed the DAB transmitters. We’re confident that K-Net will benefit from our high-quality and flexible audio solutions. We look forward to future collaborations.”
