Selje, Norway 2024-03-11 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Paneda has completed the installation of DAB radio with a break-in system in the Indreeids Tunnel. The tunnel, stretching 4900 meters, is a key element in the broader road infrastructure improvements connecting Korsmyra and Indreeide on Fv. 63. By bypassing a previously vulnerable section of the route prone to rockfalls and adverse weather conditions, the tunnel ensures safer and more reliable year-round travel for residents and visitors alike.
The Indreeids Tunnel plays a key role in securing access to one of Norway’s most iconic destinations – Geiranger. The place is both a national and international tourist attraction, home to around 230 permanent residents during winter, but it welcomes an estimated 600,000–700,000 visitors during the summer season. In winter, the Fv. 63 is the only access road to Geiranger, through Eidsdal and Ørnevegen.
