Sweden and France 2026-09-09 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Paneda is pleased to announce that RTBF, the public broadcaster serving the French-speaking community of Belgium, has selected Heynen-Paneda as the supplier for the modernization of its DAB distribution platform following a recent public procurement process.
The new platform will be installed at RTBF’s new state-of-the-art Media Square facilities, which have recently been completed.
The project has been won and managed by Heynen, Paneda’s long-standing partner and system integrator in Belgium and the Netherlands. Heynen successfully secured the contract, with Paneda providing the DAB head-end platform and core broadcast technology.
RTBF has relied on Paneda’s DAB+ multiplexing systems for the past seven years and will now renew its infrastructure to Paneda’s latest Docker-based platform. The procurement process was characterized by demanding technical requirements, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, system resilience, and advanced DAB functionality.
The contract includes eight DAB multiplexers with full redundancy, EDI/ETI converters, a comprehensive monitoring system, and eight years of technical support. RTBF also intends to implement the new DAB radio emergency warning system, ASA (Automatic Safety Alerts) with support from Paneda. The complete solution will be delivered as a turnkey deployment.
This award further strengthens Paneda’s position in the European digital radio market and reinforces the company’s long-standing relationship with one of the region’s most respected public broadcasters.
Jos Jorisen, Sales Manager:
“We are delighted to have earned RTBF’s continued trust and confidence. The project represents an exciting opportunity to migrate an entire operational platform to Paneda’s latest generation technology. Such a migration requires careful planning and execution to ensure a seamless transition and minimize any potential impact on listeners. We look forward to delivering a successful project together with Paneda and RTBF.”
Lars-Peder Lundgren, CEO of Paneda Sweden:
RTBF has been an important reference customer for Paneda for the past seven years, and Belgium remains one of the most advanced markets in Europe when it comes to the digital transformation of radio. This makes the project particularly exciting for us, and we are honored that RTBF has chosen Paneda as its continued supplier of DAB systems” “We are fully confident that our latest platform will meet and exceed expectations in terms of performance, security, and operational reliability. Our team is fully prepared for this significant project, and we look forward to continuing our close collaboration with both RTBF and Heynen in the years ahead.”
